"Super Chief"
The Super Chief was the flagship luxury passenger train of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. It was called "The Train of the Stars." This is a fictional scene of the SF Super Chief crossing a trestle that spans a roaring waterfall and river.

Built by the Lima Locomotive Works of Lima, Ohio the Shay locomotive was the most widely used geared steam locomotive designed by Ephraim Shay. Approximately 2770 Shay locomotives were built by Lima.

Amtrak Zephyr

"2020 Railfan"
It's over ninety years since railroad traffic began passing through the Moffat Tunnel, completed in 1928, and the railfan photographers are still out chasing trains trying to get the perfect shots.

Royal Hudson

"Royal Hudson"
The Canadian Pacific Railroad built several semi-streamlined 4-6-4 Hudson type locomotives in 1940 for passenger service. One of the engines pulled the Royal train across Canada and was called Royal Hudson with the blessing of King George VI.

1932 Railfan

It's only four years since railroad traffic began passing through the Moffat Tunnel, completed in 1928, and the railfan photographers are out chasing their train shots.

California Zephyr

"Breeze from the West"
The California Zephyr passenger train goes through the West portal of the famous Moffat Tunnel in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.

Rio Grande F9

"Gold in the Rockys"
A Rio Grande F9A & F9B diesel-electric locomotives heads a train through the aspen trees on a clear fall day in the Rocky Mountains.

Coast Daylight

The well known Southern Pacific 'Coast Daylights' traveled up and down the California coast back in the heyday of railroad steam power.

Burlington Northern

"Burlington Northern"
These green and white diesels of the old Burlington Northern are shown passing through a cut just after crossing the Kiddie Wye, California.


One of the famous narrow gauge steam engines that operates on the "Cumbres Scenic and Toltec" excursion railroad that runs from Antonito, Colorado to Chama, New Mexico.
