Railroad Art from Feight Studios

"2020 Railfan"

It's 2020 and ninety years have gone by since railroad traffic began passing under the Continental Divide through the Moffat Tunnel that was completed in 1928. Railfan photographers are still out chasing trains trying to get the perfect shots at the East Portal. The original train tracks climbed Rollins Pass with a series of switch back loops with a steep 4% grade and severe snow conditions made the route unprofitable. The 6-mile long tunnel saved about 154 miles and many days on the trip from Denver to Salt Lake City. Still in use today by modern diesel powered freights, it is also used by east and west bound Amtrak's California Zephyr passenger trains each day. Depicted here is the eastbound Zephyr #6 headed for Denver and then on to Chicago. This is a follow-on print to "1932 Railfan" that was published in 2017.

Railroad art giclee prints are an exact reproduction of the original gouache watercolor art and are printed on 100% rag, high quality, heavyweight, watercolor type paper making it very difficult to distinguish the print from the original. Print size is 18" x 24" overall including a 2" white border. Signed by the artist. $49.99 + $15 s/h
