This is a portrait of a fellow railroad buff  who played guitar in a band. The painting was originally started years ago and worked on now and then. Some final touch-up work was done in 1998 and it was entered in the "Views of the West" contest at Denver's famous Fort Restaurant. The result: 1st Place, Best use of theme.

The Bassist

"The Bassist"
This is a portrait of the bassist in a California band called 'Merlin' (same as the above two musicians). The painting was begun many years ago and only finished recently. Some final touch-up work was done in 2000 and it was entered in the "Views of the West" contest. The result was 2nd Place.

The Musician

"The Musician"
This is a portrait of another musician who played in the same band as the guitarist below.  The picture was painted in watercolor several years ago. Some sprucing-up work and a new frame were added in 1999 and it was entered in the "Views of the West" contest at Denver's famous Fort Restaurant. The result: "Best of Show
